Purpose

to form a professional society of Illinois Orthotists and Prosthetists;

to promote the science and art of Orthotics and Prosthetics;

to protect the public health;

to elevate the standards of medical education of Orthotists and Prosthetists;

to unite the professions behind these purposes;

to promote similar interests in the component societies and to cooperate with similar organizations in other states and territories of the United States;

to sponsor and lobby for legislation intended to license and preserve the high qualities of the profession;

and to inform and educate the public and the profession concerning the advancement in Orthotics and Prosthetics.
